What's covered
Subjects by level.
Primary Math & Science
Foundational number sense and problem-solving heuristics for Primary 1 to 4, moving into PSLE-style model drawing, word problems and Science process skills for Primary 5 to 6.
Lower Secondary Math & Science
Bridges the jump from PSLE to secondary syllabus pacing, building the algebra, geometry and Science fundamentals that Upper Secondary A-Math, E-Math and the sciences build directly on top of.
E-Math & A-Math
E-Math for the core O/N-Level syllabus, A-Math for students taking the additional subject. Both are drilled against ten years of past-year exam questions, not just textbook exercises.
Combined Science & Pure Physics / Pure Chemistry
Combined Science for students taking the joint syllabus, or Pure Physics and Pure Chemistry separately for students taking the full triple-science route.
Why choose RocketUp
Exam-smart, not textbook-slow.
The CUE method for Science
Command word, Underlying concept, Explain: a fixed three-step routine for precise, keyword-rich answers that match marking scheme expectations, so responses stop losing marks for missing the actual command word. Read about Thomas's teaching background →
Marking-scheme language and shortcuts that earn method marks even on a question a student has not fully solved, drilled through timed practice to build speed and accuracy.
Ten years of past-year papers set the order of revision, with common-trap and mistake-spotting exercises woven in, so time goes to the question types the exam actually asks, most often.
Questions
Frequently asked.
Why choose Rocketuptuition?
- One tutor, Thomas Ng, teaches every class himself. There is no rotating pool of part-timers.
- Groups are capped at four students, small enough for a student to ask about the step they missed.
- Revision runs on exam-smart techniques and ten years of past-year papers, not the whole textbook.
How is a typical lesson like?
- A short recap of the last tricky point, then new content broken into steps small enough to finish that session.
- Practice questions in actual exam format, so the technique gets used under the same conditions as the real paper.
How do you track my progress?
- Thomas keeps notes on which topics and question types keep costing marks.
- Past-paper practice is checked under timing, the same way the actual exam is timed.
- Patterns and progress are flagged to parents directly over WhatsApp, rather than a formal report card.
Can more subjects be combined into a tuition session?
- Yes. Math and Science, or A-Math and E-Math, are often combined in the same 1.5 hour block.
- The rate is charged per subject.
- The exact mix is agreed with Thomas directly, based on what needs the most attention that term.
Can friends or siblings join my existing 1-1 tuition?
Yes. Moving from a 1-1 rate to a small group, up to a cap of four, usually works out cheaper per student. Message Thomas to arrange it.
How are fees calculated?
- Fees are billed monthly, based on the number of sessions that actually fall within that month.
- Months affected by a public holiday or school event are pro-rated accordingly.
What is the withdrawal policy like?
There is no notice period required to withdraw from the tuition programme. Fees already paid for completed sessions are non-refundable.
